Matthew Asuka
Matthew Asuka is a highly skilled Military Logistician with twenty five (25) years’ experience in military service.
He started off his career in 1997 as a Platoon Commander 6 Infantry Battalion. By dint of hard work, he was privileged to be sent on several international missions including the United Nations Interm Force in Lebanon (1999), United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone(2004), United Nations Mission in Liberia (2008), Staff Officer II Logistics Operations for United Nations Mission in Darfur(2012) among others.
In Sierra Leone, he rose to become the overall Commanding Officer responsible for general supervision of personnel assigned to him while in Liberia, he was Operation Officer / Acting Team Leader responsible for ensuring the implementation of the United Nations Military (UNIMIL) mandate.
In addition to his international experience, Matthew he also served as Platoon Commander 6 Infantry Battalion in Tamale (2000 to 2001), the Officer Commanding for Yendi Military Detachment from 2005 to 2006, Deputy Commanding Officer and Chief Instructor for the Ghana Army Recruits Training School.
Matthew has developed exceptional administrative skills through his service as the Assistant Director Administration and Acting Commanding Officer at the Ghana Army Headquarters.
A graduate from Bishop Herman College, he holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, Master of Science in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University, UK and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Defense and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
Matthew further holds numerous professional certifications including Maritime Security and TransNational Organized Crime, Conflict and Crisis Management, International Peace Support among others.
